Shakedown: Hawaii preview
Shakedown: Hawaii is coming very soon
Shakedown: Hawaii is my latest game discovery! This is surprising considering the game has been in development for a few years. Shakedown: Hawaii is an upcoming open world action game that is geared around rebuilding your reputation as a CEO. Now that sounds like an ambitious foundation for a video game but before we tackle Shakedown Hawaii’s juicy bits it is important to pay homage to how this game looks.

If you grew up in the 80’s and 90’s then the 8bit and 16bit era should be well known when it comes to gaming. Shakedown: Hawaii looks stunning with brightly coloured sprites. The overall look seems to be a mashup of Sim City, Grand Theft Auto, Streets of Rage and Metal Slug! Shakedown: Hawaii oozes charm for sure. In fact the concept art below reminds me of Grand Theft Auto V. Now if that’s not impressive I don’t know what is!
Story
Shakedown: Hawaii follows the story of a CEO who is trying to claw himself back from the brink of financial obliteration. The rise of the internet, online shopping and technology caused his own business to slow down. Changes need to be made if he is going to survive.

Shakedown: Hawaii fuses open world action and empire building. Build a "legitimate"corporation by completing open world missions, acquiring businesses, sabotaging competitors, and "rezoning" land

Gameplay/Setting
Who likes to destroy buildings, cars (and more) in a video game? You can expect plenty of that in Shakedown: Hawaii. Whether you’re blowing up a 4x4 in the city or your escaping on a boat down the river I am sensing that the world will be a ton of fun to play in. Buildings can also be entered. According to the developers; Vblank, there are approximately 200 buildings that are enterable. I guess what we do when we are inside them is up to us.

There are three initial modes available at launch: Story mode, Arcade challenges and free roam.

Release
Shakedown: Hawaii comes to the PS4, Vita, Nintendo Switch, PC and Nintendo 3DS on May 7th. Pre-oder details can be found here. Now I am definitely in! The question is: are you? Check out more gameplay screenshots of Shakedown: Hawaii below.

Hi Gemma, I have never heard of this game until I saw your tweet, it sounds like a game that you need to sink a lot of time into? And I am finding less time to play this hobby of mine. One of many reasons I love what you do. You find games some of us might never hear about. Thank you for bringing this to light. <3

Would be a good stream Gemma. Not often you stream indie games. Been trying to figure out the other game you Tweeted a while ago about a game similar to Shovel Knight that is coming out, or is out. Not having any luck!!
