2015 has been a remarkable year for gaming. Alongside the plethora of Triple A titles rattling around store shelves, I've had the pleasure of getting to know Dan and Terry after they broke the story of their Nintendo Playstation Prototype (SNES CD). I've long dreamt about this machine and always joked with my friends "they'll be a box of them sitting in a factory in Japan somewhere". Never for one second did I think I'd be talking to the owner of one! Today, I immediately text Dan and Terry once the story broke and punched the air a few times in absolute elation from the update.
By now you should know the story of how the Nintendo Playstation or SNES CD or Playstation Super Disc came to light. Many sources across our community made a huge noise about the prototype, including me when I reached out to Dan and asked for a Skype Interview and later when I released a video to try and silence the doubters of the validity of the Nintendo Playstation. Both videos were met with the normal levels of hostility with people suggesting the prototype was "a fake". Some people will still argue "it's a mockup, it's not real" which I highly contested and rightly so. Why would anyone go to such lengths to make a 'fake?'
Check out my videos as I followed this awesome news.
HKGolden.com launched the story behind the Nintendo Playstation prototype's inner core. The console was professionally stripped and analysed and you can see some of this pictures here and below. Back tracking slightly, both Dan and his father, Terry are in Hong Kong to showcase the Nintendo Playstation at a Retro Gaming event. The prototype works but only in part. It was confirmed by HKGolden that the CD-ROM drive did not operate. Based on the translation of the article it appears that there's some corroding on the board but other than that the cart port works great. Dan can be seen below playing on Bomberman. How awesome is that?

So what is next for Dan, Terry and the rarest video game console on planet earth? I put this question to Dan in a text. All shall be revealed. For now, we can enjoy updates from the Hong Kong Retro Gaming Event as seen below.
EDIT 7th November 2015: As I write this I am texting Dan. He updated me on what is next for the Nintendo Playstation: "...going to try and fix the drive tomorrow" Stand by everyone. That's right! Dan and Terry's team will attempt to fix the broken drive so it may run Playstation titles perhaps? WOW!! Additionally, Dan confirmed that it plays Super Famicom carts and although SNES carts have not been tested the team believe it will not play SNES carts. Check back on this blog for updates as I receive them. If I'm allowed to share what I've been told then I'll add it here. -Gemma Click here for some of the UK's best Retro Games Stores Click here to Warp to the Games Room
